Written by Tyler Stitt

The Centre for Coastal Health recently completed a contract on behalf of the Cohen Commission of Inquiry into the Declines of Sockeye Salmon to examine the possible role of diseases associated with federal and provincial enhancement hatcheries on the recent decline of  Fraser River sockeye salmon. This was one of several technical reports commissioned to inform the Inquiry about the current state of science associated with the multiple potential stressors on sockeye salmon.

Follow this link to read the Executive Summary and a brief background for Project 1A - Hatchery Disease Impact Assessment, which is now publicly available on the Cohen Commission's Technical Reports
webpage.

Dr Craig Stephen spoke with CBC's "The Early Edition" following his testimony at the Cohen Commission.  The interview, which is available as a podcast (Cohen Commission, Dr Lin on medications, Rick Hansen, Wed Aug 24, 2011), runs from 00:48 to 09:57, and covers a range of topics that relate back to our technical report to the Cohen Commission.
